Since our founding, Pure Storage has empowered innovators to build a better world with data. We’re transforming enterprise storage with simplicity, resilience, and sustainable performance. We’re a team that values learning, collaboration, and customer outcomes. Because we understand the value of bringing your full and best self to work, we offer perks that support balance and growth, including flexible time off, wellness resources, and community engagement.

We also bring unique strengths to customers: a unified AIOps platform with Pure1, a modern storage consumption model with Evergreen//One (including industry-first SLAs such as Energy Efficiency and Ransomware Recovery), and proven sustainability and reliability advantages—along with the highest Net Promoter Score in our industry.

The Field Solutions Architect (FSA) is a pivotal technical go-to-market role at the intersection of Cyber Resiliency, Unstructured Data, AI and Analytics, and File & Object Storage. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Solutions, Alliances, Marketing, Engineering, and Enablement to guide strategy, create enablement, and support customers and partners in modern data environments. You’ll help teams qualify, position, and win Data Protection and Cyber Resiliency opportunities—spanning backup, disaster recovery, ransomware recovery, Kubernetes data protection, data mobility, and layered resiliency models—while maintaining deep technical expertise and translating platform capabilities into outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Create field-facing solutions content (technical walkthroughs, deep dives, demos, qualification guides, competitive guidance) for Data Protection, Unstructured Data, AI/Analytics, and File & Object Storage use cases, including backup and restore, DR/BC, ransomware/cyber recovery, archival/tiering, hybrid/multi-cloud protection, and large-scale data management.

  • Build and launch enablement for early-stage Cyber Resiliency qualification (e.g., playbooks, discovery templates) aligned to specific customer outcomes.

  • Develop strategies and patterns for integrating Pure solutions with unstructured data, AI, and analytics platforms; demonstrate value in complex data ecosystems.

  • Provide guidance for file and object storage deployment, management, and optimisation best practices.

  • Deliver webinars and event presentations (internal and external) with Alliance Partners, Channel Partners, and ecosystem vendors across backup/DR.

  • Join customer calls, demos, POCs, EBCs, and strategy/sizing sessions to accelerate pipeline and deal progression.

  • Maintain expertise in Pure’s platform portfolio; translate features (e.g., immutable snapshots, replication, rapid restore, container backup, disaster recovery) into concrete enablement plans.

  • Stay current on emerging unstructured data, AI/analytics, and file/object innovations; turn insights into actionable field guidance.

  • Influence the Solutions roadmap by capturing field feedback on patterns, blockers, and competitive dynamics in partnership with Product Management.

  • Lead or oversee field testing of integrations and reference architectures; document best practices to bridge gaps ahead of formal validation.

  • Provide post-sales assistance and troubleshooting around backup integrations, snapshot/replication workflows, cyber recovery runbooks, and DR orchestration patterns.

  • Partner with Sales Leaders for two-way feedback, elevating regional strategy and execution for Data Protection.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment on campaigns, content, and KPIs; connect teams and build strong internal relationships across Pure.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Computer Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.

  • Typically 8+ years of pre-sales experience in IT, with depth in Data Protection (backup/restore, DR, cyber resilience, related architectures). Familiarity with Unstructured Data, AI/Analytics, and File & Object Storage is a plus.

  • Typically 5+ years in IT or cloud infrastructure spanning compute, storage, networking, and distributed systems.

  • Technical acumen across Data Protection: immutable snapshots, replication, DR runbooks/orchestration, ransomware recovery design, and cloud-based protection patterns.

  • Understanding of the infrastructure underpinning high-performance recovery at scale (servers, networking, storage) and how to optimise RPO/RTO across on‑prem and cloud.

  • Ability to map customer requirements to architectures and outcomes, and to simplify complex concepts for account teams and partners.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and explain visually (e.g., diagramming/whiteboarding) to diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency with productivity tools and CRM/opportunity management systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Salesforce).

  • Experience with the Data Protection ecosystem and Pure integrations: Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, Zerto, VMware, Oracle RMAN, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, and Kubernetes ecosystems (e.g., Portworx, Kasten) across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Experience supporting large Enterprise and Public Sector/SLED accounts.

  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory (and occasionally internationally), approximately 40–60%, with variability by quarter and event cadence; reasonable accommodations considered.

  • Reliable follow-through and accountability; community contributions (publications, talks, OSS) are a plus.

  • Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., VMCE, Commvault, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, Kubernetes/CKA, security/cyber resiliency).
