About Diagnostics at Owkin

Our ambition is to potentiate precision diagnosis in oncology with artificial intelligence applied to digital pathology. Pathology slide images, taken from biopsied or resected tissues, are a yet-untapped, ultra-high dimensional data modality that offer a huge potential for deep learning application to better understand disease, optimize patient care & improve treatment decisions.

We have for instance developed two products based on AI and digital pathology to tackle major challenges in precision oncology:

The first one is about evaluating the risk of relapse in early breast cancer for a better adaptation of the therapeutic strategy. The second one is about decreasing the burden of MSI screening for patients with Colorectal cancer. If detected, the MSI phenotype leads to a very specific care pathway with a treatment based on immunotherapy improving the chance of survival for the patient.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated site reliability engineer to work within our diagnostics team.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team of machine learning engineers, software engineers, solutions architects, and in close collaboration with the tech lead of the team.

In particular, you will:

• Deploy diagnostic software products across multiple centers (hospitals or pathology laboratories), both on-premise and on the cloud.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering to centers at which products are deployed.
• Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health, and manage the full product lifecycle (including decommissioning).
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.

Position is based in Paris, Nantes or remotely in France.As such, the candidate must possess authorization to work legally in France.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of industry experience with a Masters or BS degree, in computer science, software engineering or an associated field
• Expertise in Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of development collaboration tools (git, Jira, Confluence)
• Experience in production environments: Documentation / Specification, Tests & Code versioning
• Experience with dynamic resource management frameworks like Mesos, Kubernetes, or Yarn
• Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3
• Experience with cloud computing services such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix-like environments
• Knowledge of network and security
• Experience in cyber security and applicable standards (in particular ISO 27001)
• Fluency in English is a prerequisite; additional language skills in French would be preferred
• Authorization to work legally in France
