Senior Network Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior Network Engineer for our Corporate IT Department in Europe.Our customers are Rakuten group's employees, and the primary responsibility of this position is contributing to provide efficiency throughout design, construction and operation of our Global corporate network. 

The role will include work for Global projects as well as EU regional projects.  

We require an individual with a broad range of technical experience to cover the following responsibilities and skills as defined below.

Key responsibilities:

• Office network design, construction and operation for EU region and Global offices
• Datacentre network design, construction and operation
• Design, implement and operate various network devices and appliances
• Introducing new technology to improve employees' working efficiency and contributing to cost reduction
• BAU operational support tasks
• Taking part of Global decision (POC, Project and Governance Meetings) for future infrastructure
• 3rd line Escalation point for internal teams
• Mentoring team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication, business continuity plan, disaster recovery)
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
• Lifecycle of the network equipment

Essential Skills:

• Knowledge and 5 years’ experience in five of the following technologies:    1) Routing : OSPF,BGP    2) Wireless : 802.11, Cisco AP, Wireless Controller, Prime Infrastructure, Cisco OEAP, Juniper MIST    3) Site-to-Site VPN : IPsec, DMVPN, MPLS    4) SSL VPN : Cisco AnyConnect    5) Authentication : Cisco ISE, 802.1x, certificate based authentication, TACACS    6) Firewall : Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA, PA Panorama    7) Monitoring : PRTG    8) Automation : Using shell script, Ansible or other automation tools    9) Others : NetFlow, packet capture analysis, QoS, DHCP
• Negotiation and troubleshooting experience with telecommunication carriers
• CCNA /CCNP or similar certification holder
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills
• Willingness to travel to other locations

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with network design, construction and operations for enterprise level network with over 100 locations and more than 3 datacentres
• Experience with IPv6 deployment in enterprise scale
• Knowledge and experience in network securities (IDS, IPS, URL Filtering, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, Unix/Linux and video conference systems to do basic network troubleshooting
• Experience in evaluating new network technologies
• NOC/SOC interaction experience
• Customer support
