Culturally Responsible Programming Specialist

THE ROLE  

The Culturally Responsible Programming (CRP) Specialist works closely with the Clinical Director of Culturally Responsible Programming to ensure the integration of culturally responsible principles across all tiers of TRAILS clinical programming through internal professional development opportunities and consultation. The CRP Specialist leads the development and facilitation of community engagement opportunities for the purposes of enhancing the inclusion of partner voices in TRAILS clinical programming. Additionally, the CRP Specialist participates in relevant internal workgroups across multiple teams to ensure optimal integration of a CRP framework in TRAILS clinical materials, partner training, and communications. 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination/Management (45%)

  • Develop and implement annual key partner activities that deepen clinical team understanding of current needs and areas of growth within TRAILS programming from a DEIB perspective. 
  • Directly support the Clinical Director of Culturally Responsible Programming in developing and leading internal DEIB professional development opportunities for TRAILS staff. 
  • Manage current and future material translation projects in response to programming expansions to other partner districts/states.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director of Culturally Responsible Programming to develop, update, manage, and track opportunities and strategies for enhancing community partner voices in TRAILS clinical programming. 
  • Manage TRAILS clinical team focus group processes and related tracking forms in Airtable, Monday.com, and similar tracking tools. 
  • Track various CRP projects and their progress using project management tools.

Cross-functional Collaboration (30%)

  • Support the facilitation of the TRAILS internal CRP workgroup in collaboration with the Clinical Director of Culturally Responsible Programming.  
  • Collaborate with clinical team members across various internal workgroups (e.g., CRP workgroup, DEI materials workgroup) to integrate and align CRP materials, processes, and methodologies across TRAILS. 
  • Support necessary revisions/additions to existing SOPs for use by the material translation and CRP workgroups. 
  • Lead the development of CRP tips, strategies, and best practices for use in TRAILS partner newsletters. 

Program Implementation (15%)

  • Support the integration of a CRP framework into the TRAILS clinical program model.
  • Serve as a CRP consultant for clinical team members regarding materials, training, and related efforts that involve community partners. 
  • Monitor research literature surrounding culturally responsible/responsive school-based or general mental health practices that should inform and be incorporated into the TRAILS CRP framework and overall clinical programming.
  • Develop research-informed materials that can be shared both internally and externally with community partners regarding culturally informed clinical best practices for students. 

Team responsibilities (10%)

  • Attend all staff meetings and retreats, workgroups, and other relevant TRAILS meetings as necessary.
  • Support TRAILS team with all hands-on deck events as needed and other team initiatives.

THE PERSON 

Our experience suggests that the following types of professional experiences lend themselves to this work:

  • Previous experience working in or actively collaborating with school systems, healthcare organizations, mental health agencies, public health organizations, or social service/nonprofit organizations. 
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining strong community partnerships.
  • Experience adapting clinical/mental health curriculum for cultural relevance.
  • Experience or familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) in schools.
  • Experience with large-scale training delivery and virtual training methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating focus groups or utilizing qualitative methodologies to inform clinical/mental health practices.

  • Experience using established project management, collaboration, and tracking systems (e.g., Qualtrics, Monday.com, Airtable, Slack). 
  • Strong project management skills, particularly within large-scale clinical projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-directed and independent as well as collaborative.

EDUCATION

Our experience suggests the following certifications and degree(s) lend themselves well to this work:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a social sciences field (e.g., social work, community, counseling or clinical psychology).
  • A minimum of 4 years experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse populations in clinical and/or educational settings. 

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this role is $84,726 to $94,140.
