Front & Mobile Staff Engineer

At Shine, we build the pro account that changes the daily banking and administrative life of business owners (freelancers, professionals, SMBs). Our technical team is organized in 7 tribes to allow our 60 engineers to have a maximum impact on the product's development and the technical issues related. The fintech market is one of the most challenging. The development of new features and a robust architecture are the main challenges for Shine to keep growing. In this context, we have decided to add a new cross-functional role in our engineering team: a staff engineer dedicated to the front-end and mobile architecture. Joining us on this position means becoming a key member of the team by bringing vision and strategy to our front and mobile roadmap!

Your missions:

• Lead the development and implementation of our mobile strategy, focusing on React Native with a few native modules, and migrating towards Expo.
• Drive structural changes in our mobile development approach to improve efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize mobile development initiatives, and guide the implementation of new features and functionality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the mobile development team.
• Prioritize and balance short-term and long-term investments to focus on high impact work.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile products that meet user requirements and exceed expectations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in mobile development, and incorporate them into our development processes.

Regarding our stack, we are using React, React Native, Node, Typescript, GraphQL. But also : CircleCI, Github Actions, Kibana, Docker, GCP.

About you:

• You have acquired a great mobile development expertise (React Native, Expo, integrating custom native modules, performance, accessibility, security),
• You have a strong mobile architecture expertise,
• You are experienced with mobile release process cycles,
• Your communication skills define you: you foster an effective collaboration between tribes and other teams, and you’re able to make your subjects accessible for non-tech people,
• You act as a mentor and are always keen to give some advices,
• You’re a leader, able to make impactful technical choices,
